Adventure of Sinbad the Sailor by Katie Daynes

　Long ago, a wealthy Arab merchant, Sinbad is an adventure story.

This work is part of the Arabian Night. I have read Sinbad’s adventure for the first time. I was surprised that there are many interesting old stories in middle East. I thought this story represents the harshness of trade on the ship at that time. Currently, Baghdad is rough in the war, but I can read that it is prosperous then.

Homestay Letter

 Hello my name is Kota Nozaki. I  went to Anaheim in California to home stay. I went to study abroad of English.

 My host family was very kind. Host family is an enthusiastic fan of Los Angeles Angels. I like baseball game watching TV. Since,  they are take me to Angels stadium in Anaheim. I first saw Shohei Ohtani in there. He belted big home run for Athletics. We were excited about his good play. I was taken host family to dinner of Japanese food restaurant in Los Angels. I ate tempura and Iban ramen. There were good taste dishes.


 Next day, we were went to Disneyland park with my host family. I was thought scary roller coaster in the U.S. Disneyland park is larger of Japan Disneyland park. since, I was get lost in there for Host family. But, people were kind in Anaheim. So, I was enjoy Disneyland park. We went to sushi restaurant after that. I first ate California roll. That was good experience.



 I was make friend in University. His name is Andrea. I met him in university. He major same course with me. He is Italian-American. He grew up in Italia. So, he can fluently talk Italian. He has short and brown hair. He is about one hundled eighty centimeters tall. He hobby is fishing. Because of I took Long Beach for Kevin on his car. Long Beach was large and a lot of people beach. But, there were very beautiful view. We were forgot fishing to swim. In university, I and he was study hard English. So, we were often stay school to study.


 Lastly, I appreciate my host family staying your home. I was grad to admit me. I am going to Anaheim in next year's spring vacation again.

Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

Long ago in Persia, there lived two brothers. Kasim　was a rich merchant, but Ali Baba was only a poor woodcutter.

 I like Arabian nights. Alibaba and 40 thieves had many lessonical expressions. Particularly felt that where greedy Kasim got out of the cave. I know Alibaba and the 40 thieves, the story ends there. But in this book Kasim was killed by thieves and Alibaba became wealthy. I felt that the grotesque scenes for children were left it out. It was good that Morgiana who was a slave’s position married Alibaba’s son. It was Arabic that camels and oil merchants etc. appeared in old tales. However, Kasim who was slash apart by thieves was a little poor.

My favorite place I’ve been is Osaka. Osaka is very big city. I like urban. I want to live in big city. I went to trip in Osaka last spring vacation with my friend. I went to go Dotonbori and to watch the Manzai in Osaka. There are many buildings a good view and so many delicious foods. I want to visit there again.

My favorite animal is cat. I previously had two cat at home. The cat’s name was Suzu and Milk. I remember being very cute. Suzu and Milk had a car accident. Since, Suzu and Milk were died now. I was very cried. But, new cat came to my home last year. That’s name is vanilla.

My favorite fruit is grape. I like juice with grapes and ice cream. Of course I like that grape as well. In particular, I like small and seedless grapes. Every summer I often eat grapes. Recommended way to eat grapes is delicious when you put it in a freezer and freeze it and eat it

My favorite season is winter. Because in the winter there are many delicious foods and air is clear. In winter, it’s the best because there is a Kotatsu and a Nabe. I like winter because I don’t sweat. In winter, we can catch many good fish delicious. I want to ski this winter.
